Signposts
Vertical Alignment is joined by an array of stars from the world of C-Prog on their first full CD, “Signposts.” Appearing with the VA regulars on the release will be Randy George and Wil Henderson of Ajalon, Steve Babb, Fred Schendel, and Eric Parker of Glass Hammer, David Wallimann of Glass Hammer and Young Earth, Carl Groves of Salem Hill, Mike and Shaun FitzPatrick of the band FitzPatrick, Eddie Jerlin of Everlasting Arms, Kevin Jarvis of Farpoint, Lenna Pauley of Progressive Positivity Radio and The Radiant Flow, lyrics by author Stephen Lawhead and more. The collaboration and interaction that has become this release has been nothing short of extraordinary. It is rare that a debut release boasts such a stellar cast.
The album builds on a concept that sometimes God uses major world events to point to a higher way; a better way. Vertical Alignment explores such events starting with the Second World War as portrayed in “Dress Rehearsal.” Many other events are searched out including September 11, 2001 in “The Towers.” The state of the world today in recent history is the last statement in “Rented Houses.” The promise of a bright future is proclaimed in “Kingdom of Summer” with lyrics by Stephen Lawhead. Gamuts of emotions are felt as great events portrayed in song shape our existence and remind us always of the God who is there.
“Signposts” was released on the web on May 8, 2006 and both downloads and the CD is now available at ThunderSongs.
